Meet Mrs. Cavallaro

A Passionate Educator and Artist

Hello! I'm Mrs. Cavallaro and am excited to create with my troops of young artists!  I'll teach them how to experience art 'flow' and help their young minds grow! My goal is to help each child reach his/her fullest potential.  I believe that today, more than ever, art is a vital component of your child's education. 

I hold degrees in both Elementary Education and Art Education from Central Connecticut State University. In addition to art, my undergraduate focus was in Language Arts. I also have a master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction with a focus area of science. I am a STEAM certified teacher through the National Institute for STEM Education.  I intend to help my students explore the connections between our world, core subject areas, personal motivations, and art.

When I'm not teaching, my husband Ron and I enjoy spending time with our family. Our two sons have ventured off to explore their own interests in engineering and technology but both of them have found a way to incorporate art into their career fields!  I enjoy nature and all that it offers,  hiking, river sports, and gardening.  I also enjoy cooking, baking, visiting museums, hanging out with friends and family, traveling, reading, exploring downtown Detroit, laughing and of course, anything that involves art!  Keeping a positive attitude about life and helping my 'littles' discover their talents is a daily goal of mine!
